S. cerevisiae Ahk1 is a scaffold protein of the HKR1 sub-branch of the Hog1 osmostress MAPK pathway that binds the cytoplasmic domain of the Hkr1 osmosensor and also binds Sho1, Ste11 and Pbs2, preventing incorrect signal flow from Hkr1 to the Kss1 MAPK.
