Comprehensive Analysis of a Yeast Lipase Family in the Yarrowia Clade.

LIH1 (YJR107W) is named as a putative lipase solely on the basis of sequence homology; it is the S. cerevisiae relative of the Yarrowia LIP family and shares only 26% identity (44% similarity) with Y. lipolytica Lip2, its closest relative. It was not biochemically characterized in this study.
"This putative lipase in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, called Lih1 and encoded by YJR107W, shares 26% identity and 44% similarity with YlLip2, its closest relative in Y. lipolytica."

Members of this fungal lipase family carry the conserved Ser-Asp-His catalytic triad with the catalytic serine in the GHS[LFM]G pentapeptide, characteristic of the alpha/beta hydrolase fold; this is a family/fold-level bioinformatic argument, consistent with LIH1 retaining an intact triad.
"All the proteins in this region harbored the conserved serine, aspartic acid, and histidine catalytic triad characteristic of the α/β hydrolase with the catalytic nucleophile serine located in the highly conserved pentapeptide GHS[LFM]G"
