Orb manual research synthesis

Falcon timed out after 600 seconds; perplexity-lite returned HTTP 401 insufficient quota. The original Falcon process later returned a completed report, which was inspected alongside independently checked primary literature.

PMID:27791065(https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27791065/) experimentally compares Orb and Orb2 binding and establishes recognition of CPE-like mRNA 3-prime-UTR sequences. PMID:15737929(https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15737929/) establishes Orb-dependent translational activation, while PMID:7926753(https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7926753/) establishes oskar/gurken localization and oocyte axis phenotypes. PMID:11809824(https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11809824/) full text directly examines Orb localization and mutant cysts despite its MEI-218 title. PMID:21949709 and PMID:30865627 provide additional full-text context on phosphorylation and oocyte polarity.

The reproducible exact-isoform comparison shows target residues 8–559 are identical to long Orb residues 364–915. The intact C-terminal RNA-binding machinery supports the broad translation-regulator claim despite N-terminal differences. The broad claim is already present in GOA, so CNN is appropriate. This does not transfer Orb2-specific memory biology or establish identical regulation among Orb isoforms.
