In the Results subsection on endogenous XB130 in human lung epithelial cells, the authors report cytokine measurements following XB130 siRNA in BEAS-2B cells:

This supports an IL-6-production regulatory effect in that cell context. It does not establish a direct cytokine-producing activity or a constitutive proinflammatory role in every tissue or species.
